The California native has established himself over the course of 60+ years as both a legendary actor and a tremendous director. An entire book could be penned when describing the accomplishments and accolades earned by Eastwood. Before he broke into the entertainment business as a performer and storyteller, Eastwood was drafted into the Army for the Korean War. Interestingly enough, Eastwood primarily functioned as a swim instructor (and as a bouncer at a bar/club). He reportedly never saw actual combat as a member of the military.
