The ‘Scandoval’ might be over (for now), but Vanderpump Rules is set to continue on — this time with a new cast entirely, according to sources at TMZ.
While ‘anonymous sources’ should always be taken with a grain of salt, TMZ has reported that production crews have been spotted at Lisa Vanderpump’s house in West Hollywood. These same crews were also spotted at the SUR restaurant weeks earlier, further fueling rumors of a series spin-off.
Vanderpump Rules follows the antics of vapid 20-something bar and restaurant employees at West Hollywood hotspots SUR and Pump (now closed). The original cast featured some incredibly popular figures that propelled the show into being one of the hottest reality shows around, such as Jax Taylor — who now owns a bar with his now-divorced wife Brittany Cartwright and star on another hit reality show The Valley. Ariana Madix, then-girlfriend of Tom Sandoval before he cheated on her, has become one of the hottest celebrities around — with her hosting the latest season of popular show Love Island USA season 6.
However, with the seasons passing by and the cast becoming older, it was clear the series needed a new direction in order to keep things fresh. While the original series is gearing up for season 12, this brand-new series will introduce a completely different cast working at SUR and (presumably) other Vanderpump-adjacent properties throughout the city.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned show The Valley features many past VPR stars, so fans can still view the storylines of the original cast members if they wish to stay up-to-date. In the meantime, this new series will be developed parallel to these shows, allowing fans even more choices in the world of Vanderpump Rules.
This new project is still in the early stages, and there has been no official confirmation of the name of the show, potential cast, or any release dates.
