Ozzy Osbourne isn’t shy about speaking his mind. The iconic rockstar took to X on Friday afternoon and hurled a rather serious allegation at Kanye West.
This is the post Osbourne released via his personal account:
@kanyewest ASKED PERMISSION TO SAMPLE A SECTION OF A 1983 LIVE PERFORMANCE OF “WAR PIG” FROM THE US FESTIVAL WITHOUT VOCALS & WAS REFUSED PERMISSION BECAUSE HE IS AN ANTISEMITE AND HAS CAUSED UNTOLD HEARTACHE TO MANY. HE WENT AHEAD AND USED THE SAMPLE ANYWAY AT HIS ALBUM LISTENING PARTY LAST NIGHT. I WANT NO ASSOCIATION WITH THIS MAN!
Kanye is no stranger to controversy, as his name has routinely been featured in the news cycle for over a decade at this point. The allegation levied by Osbourne is a serious one. Musicians at this level are usually quite collaborative. Intellectual property is a very precious thing, and it would be quite odd for someone of West’s stature to blatantly rip off the music from another celebrity.
It’ll be interesting to see what the follow-up could be from this fiery message. West could opt to defend himself over the allegations. Or, he may never address them — expecting them to be pushed through today’s news cycle and forgotten the next day. There’s also no word as to whether Osbourne may pursue something legally regarding this allegation. Coincidentally enough, Osbourne and wife Sharon did dress up as Kanye and West’s wife Bianca Censori for Halloween this past October.
