Spider-Man actor Tom Holland has announced his latest business foray: nonalcoholic beer.
The product, named BERO, is a passion project of Holland’s. The 28-year-old star has struggled in the past with alcohol addiction and stopped drinking in January 2022. Now, he is looking to make a business venture out of his newfound sobriety.
Speaking in an intimate interview with Forbes detailing this new product, Holland said “When I got sober, I started exploring the world of non-alcoholic beers and realized there was space for me to fit in.”
“My first year sober was really difficult, and had I had Bero, I think it would have been easier,” Holland said. “It’s a pretty generic story. I was drinking too much. I was the type of person that, when I’d have one beer, I couldn’t just have one beer. I knew I’d had a bit of a problem for a while.”
“It was very difficult, it has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and arguably the greatest achievement of my life. I’m very proud to be sober today.”
The star revealed the product on Instagram and is available now for purchase online. BERO is set to launch in Target stores nationwide in 2025.
According to the official webpage for BERO, Holland is collaborating with beer craftsman Grant Wood, who holds “40 years of experience as brewmaster at some of the world’s most prestigious breweries”.
So far, there are three types of beer that are being sold — each of them with a tie to his personal story. The European pilsner, named the Kingston Golden Pilsner, is named after his hometown Kingston Upon Thames. The Edge Hill Hazy IPA was named after his old school, and the Noon Wheat name comes from his dog.
Six-packs are being sold for $16, 12-packs at $30, 18-packs at $45, and 24-packs at $55. There is also a variety 12-pack for $33.50.
