Hulu Confirms ‘Only Murders In The Building’ Season 5 Renewal

The hit Hulu show “Only Murders In The Building” is coming back for season 5, it has been revealed.

Season four, which sees the cast of Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin go from New York City to Los Angeles, premiered on August 27th. The unlikely trio investigate the murder of a friend, who was shot dead in their kitchen during season three, while also attempting to turn their podcast into a movie. Season four includes a star-studded cast, including Meryl Streep, Eugene Levy, Zach Galifianakis, Eva Longiria, Richard Kind, Melissa McCarthy, and Kumail Nanjiani. Other guest stars throughout the seasons include Cara Delevingne, Sting, Amy Schumer, Paul Rudd, Matthew Brocerick, and many more.

Similar to seasons prior, season 5 of ‘Murders’ will have 10 episodes.

The show was created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman, debuting on Hulu in August of 2021, marking Martin’s return to TV in decades. The show attempts to tap into the popularity of the “true crime” genre of podcasts, as the trio of characters make their own podcast about a murder in their Upper West Side apartment. The show itself is set in “The Arconia,” a real-life NYC apartment building that is actually called “The Belnord.”

Since it’s debut, it has been nothing short of a revelation. The show has an incredible 49 Emmy Award nominations across the first three seasons, and it has won 4 Emmy Awards, which were Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series, Outstanding Production Design for a Narrative Program, Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series, and Outstanding Contemporary Main Title Design.

With the popularity of “Murders,” it confirms the fact we’re currently living in the era of the murder mystery, with Knives Out, Wake Up Dead Man, The Perfect Couple, and Poker Face all set to premiere.
